Qualifications necessary for entrance

The candidates must have studied Biology, Chemistry and English. However, each university has its own demands.

Gdańsk Medical University  
Candidates graduated from Swedish secondary school must have Biology and Chemistry 1 and 2. Candidates without Physics are also accepted. You can apply with any grades above failed. Your chances to be admitted are of course better with higher grades. University accepts grades from make up examinations. The best grade in a subject is taken into account. Admission is based on students’ final scores in biology and chemistry and the entrance exam score. Read more about it on Entrance examination to Gdansk.

Candidates graduated from IB-program with HL in Biology and Chemistry are not taking written exam but participation in an admission interview is mandatory. Candidates with SL in one or two subjects are obliged to undergo admission examination.

Candidates graduated from Scientific Foundation Courses (Basår), Adult Education (Komvux) and MDIS are welcome.

School of Medicine in Olsztyn
Candidates graduated from secondary school: There are no formal requirements concerning previous secondary school subjects. Admission is solely based on the result of an entrance examination. The exam is on Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The subject you will score least points for will be excluded and your acceptance to School of Medicine will be based on the remaining two subjects. Candidates graduated from IB-program are not obliged to take entrance exam. Admission is based on final score from high school.
